Year after year, this cricket ball bowling machine continues to be one of our most popular Christmas gift items.  Schools, cricket clubs and back garden cricket fans are using this bowling machine to increase their cricketing agility and batting technique – the Paceman 176 XT can swing or spin the ball so it really does keep your cricketer on their toes. Set it up away from the house to avoid broken windows or I recommend a cricket net.  The pace of the ball is variable so everyone can have a go.

Christmas wrapping idea – you can set the machine up ahead of time but I don’t recommend leaving it out overnight.  Tinsel around the machine is perfect and if you  buy a cricket net, you could decorate that with Christmas lights! 

For the 'energetic elf' - Crazy Catch

The Crazy Catch is crazy versatile and can be used for sport or just as an activity.  It can improve fitness as well as hand-eye coordination. 

It is a tightly stretched rebound net which will have your kids leaping and bounding all over the place as they try to catch balls.  Whilst using it is fun, it is a serious piece of kit and used in many sports to improve reaction times and agility.  It would be great for cricket, rugby, flag football and for goalkeepers in football.

There are several models on the Little Big Sports website but I love this one as it has two different sides – one is predictable and the other is called ‘insane’ as it could be bounce off anywhere!

Christmas wrapping idea – to be prepared for some Christmas Crazy Catch, if you have the time and patience (or perhaps it could be a Christmas job for a little elf somewhere!), you could weave tinsel through the Crazy Catch net!  Just around the outside frame would look good too.
